I agree! I think that the point Dr. Bredekamp makes regarding purposeful instruction is especially paramount in the early childhood setting due to the stigma associated with the supposed lack of professionalism in the field. I think that we, as educators, can defy the stereotypes associated with the field through parental interaction, emphasizing the developmentally appropriate practices that influence our interaction with children on a daily basis.
So true. Great quote by Dr. Bredekamp. Once you set morals and values for yourself, it is not difficult to explain to others. Teachers and/or educators are vital to young children, and to be able to explain why we do what we do; is passion in itself.
