My Supports

My staff is a great support to me. Sharing the passion for these children is our common factor. They give to me as much as I try to be there for them. They are the ones working in the day to day classroom. I visit, observe and we work together to solve the problem or share in the achievement. Even though my children are grown and gone. They are my greatest supporters. They always have a positive message or make me laugh.
I have been dealing personally with fluid in my ears. It is painful for one and causes hear loss at times. I can't imagine what I would do with complete hearing loss. How would I communicate with others? I am most assured that my family would continue to be a support. However, I couldn't support others in the way that I do.  I feel that I couldn't work with children and families it could be a safety issue. I am glad it seems to be a condition that can be fixed.

  1. Thank you Joy
I have a great family support too, even though they are all grown and living their life. The thing that we teach our children it love and when you give love it is return ten time over. And you have given the loving support that has help your family to understand that they are strong, and can do what it needed. This is family and support. I also think that having support and friend at work make the work that you do mean more Keep up the good work

  2. Great post! My immediate family have always been my greatest supporters. I look forward to my career in early education to have supports like yours. Professional supports know exactly what you are going through and can help in ways family members cannot.

  3. It is good to know that you have supportive relationships with your staff. It is also good to hear that your children are still your biggest supporters although they are grown now. I hope the issue with your ears gets better soon! Thanks for sharing!

  5. Hi Joy,
How was your web search did you find new things about resources to help you improve in early childhood. I think it was good in learning more about the web in finding out more information.

  6. Hi Joy Rutkowski,

The Blog Assignment of Week 7: Getting to Know Your International Contacts—Part 3. How was your experience in the website? The part that was interesting to me wasEarly childhood care and education programmes should emphasise the child’s holistic development and extend beyond assisting the child’s transition to formal schooling. High quality childcare, particularly for children from disadvantaged backgrounds, promotes motivation, confidence, good cognitive and linguistic development and school readiness. There are no universally agreed criteria for quantifying ECCE quality but useful factors to consider include pedagogy materials, personnel training, service setting and parental education and involvement. Learning materials should be quantitatively, culturally and developmentally adequate and focus on child-centred interaction. Where appropriate curricula exist, there can be problems with implementation with the emphasis remaining on early primary education and preparation for formal schooling due to pressure from parents and the fact that it is easier for teachers than child-centred learning. That was something good that I had gain from.
