Some of the topics recently:
Brainstorming
Holey Brain and article about children who have suffered trauma.
A message to Congress. Asking for support of early childhood programs.
Play and Science.
I belong to the NAEYC and receive there magazine. YC Young Child.
This month the focus is on Supporting Dual Language Learners and their Families. On article is Where's your partner? Pairing Bilingual learners in preschool with primary grade dual language classrooms. I love this idea. In the past I wanted to partner with high school students taking foreign language classes to help out with our families and children.

Joy,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the information that you gained from your resources this week. It sounds like pairing bilingual learners would be successful. Did they give any suggestions of how to accomplish this in the classroom setting? I do not receive YC magazine and would interested in learning more about this concept.
Joy,
ReplyDeleteI think this is great idea. I receive YC magazine and I love it. I have also taught in classrooms with duel language learners. It was difficult at first, but as the children become more comfortable with you they with help with translating for some of the other children that does not know any English. It is a great experience.
Hi Joy,
ReplyDeleteI also think that is a wonderful ideal. How can I start receive YC magazine so that I can have a better understanding on how to handle children or people by Supporting Dual Language Learners and their Families if I may work with someone with that problem.
When you join the National Association Education of Young Children (NAEYC) you will receive the magazine and get access to their website.
