I was most appreciative of classmates that shared their information. The information was a wonderful insight to other educators. It was interesting to hear some of the struggles with communication.
I feel that the world is getting on board with Early Childhood.
A few weeks back I read about the opportunity in Zambia. It is wonderful to know that children around the world have the opportunity for early education.Poverty
Previously I chose Kyrgyzstan, It is sad to think that young children are working in mines to support their families. Their mother's hope as any mother wants better for her children. I work with families living in poverty daily. I am glad that we have child labor laws in place that young children do not have to have jobs like many children around the world. Children shouldn't have to worry about providing for their families.

Joy, I have enjoyed reading your posts and I wish you luck on your future courses. I also agree with you when you state children shouldn't have to worry about providing for their families. I had to deal with something like that when I was growing up and I often find myself working two jobs and going to school so that my kids never have to experience some of the things I had to as a child trying to help my mother out.
ReplyDeleteHi Joy,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas this course. I enjoyed you post. I appreciate you drawing attention to the fact that some many children out there still live in poverty. I think that poverty is a topic that we sometimes overlook because we are so focused on the educational part of our day. I always wonder what happens to these kids when they go home at night and they are no longer in our care?

Joy, I too feel the world is beginning to understand early childhood. It is interesting to know other countries have some of the same issues as we do in regards to early childhood. Good luck with the remainder of the program.
